Hi, my name is Ishika!
I combine user-centered research, data science, and business analysis skills to drive action. I have worn multiple hats in my career: an account manager in advertising, a high school teacher in rural India, a researcher, and a product manager. Through each of these experiences, I have focused on maximizing the impact of my actions in the face of operational constraints.
My career has been a journey in maximizing impact, often under tight constraints. Here are a few highlights:
At Deloitte, I led a civic tech project that transformed a complex, 21-screen government UI into a single, intuitive dashboard, simplifying a critical public service for Colorado residents.
At the University of Washington, my research into demographic data quality helped secure a $280,000 NSF grant to improve survey methods for Census data, academic research, and labor statistics.
As a teacher, working with both underserved girls in rural India and university undergraduates, I learned how to ask the questions that uncover the root of a problem, even when users cannot articulate what is amiss.
This background has sharpened my ability to distill convoluted information into clear, compelling narratives. My experience navigating unfamiliar work cultures has made me a keen assessor of team dynamics; I ask the detailed questions needed to understand my users, my coworkers, and my role within an ecosystem. It’s how I deliver the rigorous, data-driven evidence needed to align teams, garner stakeholder buy-in, and push projects over the finish line.
